On the occasion of the second annual meeting of REAKT project the PRESTo Early Warning System was released as a free and open source software.

You can download it from here:

PRESTo implements recent algorithms for real-time, rapid earthquake location and magnitude estimation.
Damage assessment integrates a regional, network based approach with an on-site, threshold based one.
PRESTo is a lightweight, graphical application easily installable on both Windows and Linux.
It is self-contained: it does not require any other seismic software or platform to run on, just the ground motion data from a seismic network.

The system is in real-time operation in southern Italy (ISNet) since 2009.
Real-time testing is also operational in South Korea (KIGAM), Romania (RoNet) and Turkey, Marmara region (KOERI).
